Tired Cyclops
It is hard work, moving all that weight around -
Rolling that fat eye from one side to the other
burns enough energy for you to jump ten feet.
And oh, how all that size makes it
so
very
easy
to lie down.

The Santa Claus Whale
Up on the housetop, reindeer pause / Out jumps good old Santa Claus / Oh god why did he jump onto the roof / Our house is ruined
I could try to explain why I drew a picture of Humpback Whale Santa Claus in August, but I actually don't remember what led to it. I only know that once this image occurred to me, I had to get it down.

Battle!
Much like the rest of the internet right now, I see giant monsters every time I close my eyes. This one isn't from any particular movie, though I admit it does bear a general resemblance to the creatures in Pacific Rim.
Speaking of which, are you Guillermo del Toro? If you are, here is my idea for Pacific Rim 2:
More giant monsters fighting people inside giant robots, but also more than one female character who talks. And fewer dudes fighting over a woman's honor. And fewer women almost accidentally killing everyone because they can't control their emotions. I liked your movie, but come on.

Monkey & Bear
The two main characters from Monkey & Bear by Joanna Newsom. What's that? You haven't heard it? Oh my. Oh my goodness.

Feeding the Chickens
Here's a little doodle from this morning. It is inspired by the work of the estimable Scott C., who has recently become one of my favorite artists. I bought his book, Amazing Everything, a few months ago and can't stop looking at it.
I'm still working on the greeting cards, as well as two other, larger projects. I'm hoping to get back to more little things like this farmer and three of his chickens.

A is for Effort Cards
Hello! It has been some time. One of the downsides of quitting my job at the toy store is a sad lack of exposure to kids and parents saying funny things. I still have a few written down somewhere, though, so the toy store doodles may not be completely dead yet.
I've been playing around with what my next project should be, and I am pleased to be ready to announce it. I've been working on a line of greeting cards, and just launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise money for the printing costs.
You can find out more about the project via the above link. Please support and share! My funding goal is a lot higher than it was for Twleve Experiments, but I think that with enough word-of-mouth, I can make it.
I'll post more here as it becomes available. Life has been a bit hard to keep its cage these last couple of months. Big changes are ahead.
